First Grade Field Trip
Our first grade field trip to the Hogle Zoo is scheduled for Friday, March 16. In order to maximize our time at the zoo, we will have a common start that day. This means ALL students will attend school from 8:00-2:15. I now have all of the chaperones I need for the field trip-thank you! If you have not returned your permission slips-which also asks you to mark whether your child will be bringing a home lunch in a disposable bag or buying a school sack lunch- and $5 donation (if you are able:), please do so ASAP. Make sure students dress for whatever weather and temperatures we may encounter and good walking shoes. Please make sure your child is on time to school this day, we would hate to leave anyone behind!

A Few Things...
Thank you to everyone who was able to meet for Parent Teacher Conferences. I always enjoy discussing your child's strengths and making new goals. It's hard to believe we are over halfway through the year! We still have great learning experiences and adventures ahead!
Valentine's Day is on Wednesday, February 14. I am asking on this day that you send a decorated box, or bag, for your child to collect 27 valentines in. I have also sent home a list of student names so that your child may bring a valentine for each member of our class.
Our field trip to the Hogle Zoo will be on Friday, March 16. I have sent a note home discussing chaperones. If you would like to chaperone our field trip, you must be fingerprinted through the Alpine School District. Information on fingerprinting is on the note. If you would like to be a chaperone for the field trip, and are getting fingerprinted, please let me know so I can make sure we have enough parent volunteers. Thank you!

Halloween Parade
All
students will participate in the Mount Mahogany Halloween Parade on Tuesday,
October 31st. On that day, students may wear their Halloween costumes to
school. The parade will begin at 9:30 am. It is a pick-up, drop-off parade
through the halls and classrooms of Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, as well
as the gym. We are asking parents to
gather in the gym by 10:00 to watch the parade.
Students who decide not to wear their costumes all day will
be given time to change after the parade. If your child has a toy weapon as an
accessory to his/her costume, please leave it at home. No masks. Thank you!
